Mediterranean Pinks

Here is the catalog picture and description:

Pink flowers smother this low-creeping, densely branched perennial in spring. Spreads quickly to form a 6-10" high carpet of color. Hardy plants grow in full sun or part shade.

These are small plants and not only have they not spread quickly, only a couple (of 9 planted) have survived.
Here's what one of them looked like in 2012, but they have not done that well since.
Too bad plants don't actually look like their pictures online.
